What Weyn collects

• Account and profile: email address, authentication records, username, optional photo and bio, favorite vibes, privacy choices, account status and points balance.
• Activity: places you save, import, view, rate or submit; slider ratings; plans and boards; follows; posts; messages; reports; friendships; groups; polls; votes and point transactions.
• Shared-link voting: the selected option, an optional display name and a pseudonymous browser identifier used to replace an earlier vote and reduce duplicate voting. It is not presented as your legal identity.
• Optional location: coordinates are processed only after you press a location feature such as Near Me and grant browser permission. They are used to return nearby results. Weyn does not continuously track you or share live location with friends.
• Imports and submissions: text, captions or social links you choose to paste, venue details, contact details you provide, and takedown requests.
• Technical and safety data: device/browser information, IP-derived abuse-prevention hashes, request logs, errors, approximate region and performance analytics. Raw IP addresses may appear temporarily in hosting and security logs.
• Waiting list: your email address and signup time so we can send product-launch updates.

Why we use it

• Provide, secure and improve Weyn; authenticate accounts; personalize results; operate groups, polls, boards and rewards; answer support and rights requests; and prevent spam, fraud and harmful content.
• Send launch or product emails you requested. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Comply with law and protect users, Weyn and the public. Depending on the activity, processing is based on your consent, providing the service you request, legal obligations, or Weyn's legitimate interests in operating a safe service.

What other people can see

Your username, avatar, bio and public activity may be visible to other users. Friends-only content is limited to the relevant accepted friends or group members. Anyone with a poll or board sharing link may be able to open it, so treat those links like invitations.

Ghost Mode removes your posts from public and friend activity feeds. It does not make information you deliberately place in a group, poll, shared board or rating anonymous, and it cannot remove copies someone already made.

Service providers and outside links

Weyn uses providers such as Supabase for authentication, database and storage; Vercel for hosting, logs and first-party performance analytics; Mapbox for maps, geocoding and routing; and OpenAI to extract place details from text you choose to import. Administrative venue research may use Google Places. These providers process information under their own terms and Weyn's instructions where applicable.

If you choose “Open in maps,” the coordinates or venue query are sent to the map app you select. Social links and other third-party pages have their own privacy practices. Data may be processed outside the UAE with safeguards required by applicable law.

Cookies, analytics and storage

Weyn uses essential authentication cookies and browser storage for sessions, preferences and shared-link voting. We also use first-party analytics to understand page views, device/browser types, approximate region and performance. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell personal data.

Retention and security

We keep account and activity data while your account is active and as needed to provide Weyn. Waiting-list data is kept until you unsubscribe or it is no longer needed. Security limits and logs are retained for limited operational periods. Reports, removed content and backups may remain longer where needed for safety, disputes or law.

We use access controls, row-level database rules, email confirmation, rate limits, upload restrictions and moderation tools. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and do not post sensitive information.

Your choices and rights

• Location is off until you request it. You can deny or revoke permission in your browser or phone settings.
• You can change profile and sharing choices in the app, unsubscribe from emails, report content, block users where available, and request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a copy of your data where applicable.
• To exercise a right or delete your account, email hello@goweyn.com from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify the request and may retain data where law or safety requires it.

Age, changes and contact

Weyn is not directed to children under 16. If local law requires parental permission, you must have it. Some venues have separate age restrictions; Weyn does not verify eligibility for entry.
